The last night of the Proms 2015

Le 12 septembre 2015 se tenait au Royal Albert Hall "The last night of the Proms", clôturant un cycle de concerts donnés dans la capitale londonienne durant l'été. Crées en 1895, les proms fêtaient 120 ans d'existence cette année. La dernière soirée se déroule dans un Royal Albert Hall plein à craquer. La première partie est composée d'oeuvres diverses avec, chaque année, l'exécution d'une création. La seconde patrie est composée de morceaux patriotiques britanniques avec la marche n^o 1 des Pomp and Circumstance d'Edward Elgar (Land of Hope and Glory), la Fantasia on British Sea Songs d'Henry Wood, culmine avec Rule, Britannia! de Thomas Arne, Le concert se conclut avec le Jerusalem d'Hubert Parry. En fin de concert, le public entonne Auld Lang Syne (connu en français sous le titre Ce n'est qu'un au revoir). Cette année, c'est le ténor allemand Jonas Kaufmann qui à interprété Rule, Britannia! C'est la première fois qu'un interprète non britanique chante cet hymne cher aux anglais.
